The life of a young glassblower and his relationships over the years, as his country navigates through war and strife.. This is the first Pakistani hand-drawn animated film.. Before you get angry, read and think about my review till the end. The Glassblower is a good film, not going to lie, I have been following it for the last 4-5 years. But I knew from the beginning, since this is Usman Riaz’s first film, there would be problems with the story and oh boy were there many. The ending was confusing to say the least, as most of the plot was misplaced and the film rapped it up too quickly. It also didn’t feel like an “Usman Riaz” inspired original, it actually made the film “too” inspired by Ghibli. I know it’s his first film, but if he had done it in an original way, it would have been better and made it more natural and calmer than rapping it too quickly. If you really want to see what a "masterpiece" looks like, (even though people here are screaming that this film isn’t) watch HAYOA MIYAZAKI’s first film "Nausicaä The Valley of the Wind". Or "The Castle in the Sky", then you will truly understand the art of animation and the beauty of a true masterpiece story. The reviews here are completely wrong that it’s "the best film ever made", I’ve seen a lot, I mean animated films and especially Japanese ones, because I like the 2D natural artwork in them. I’m very picky about my animated films and this was an easy 7/10. The main reason for that is that although the animation is beautiful and nice, the story felt lacking and amateurishly written + not to forget the Urdu dubbing of the film. I highly recommend watching the film in English rather than URDU, because the original script of the film was in English, so the Urdu one felt like a Google translation.
